Abdirizak Diis
Founder & Director
Abdirizak Diis is the founder and director of Somali Media of Minnesota. Abdirizak wears many hats and contributes to community development and well-being. He has been in the journalism field for more than seven years as a writer, anchor, and producer working with Somali TV of Minnesota. Abdirizak is also a high school teacher in Minneapolis public schools. Abdirizak has a master’s degree in political science, and working towards another master’s degree in public affairs at Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. He is also a Bush fellow and Center for the Governance Fellow.
Siyad Salah
Founder & Director
Siyad Salah is the founder and director of Somali TV of Minnesota. He has an extensive experience of more than twenty-five years in journalism, video production, and reporting. Besides Somali TV of Minnesota, he is a correspondent for BBC Somali and Hiiraan Online.
Maxamuud Mscade
Anchoor & Producer
Maxamuud is a writer, anchor, and producer for Somali Media of Minnesota. Maxamuud has an extensive experience in media of more than 20 years working with different media news organizations. In recent years, he worked with Somali TV of Minnesota as an anchor and program producer. In addition to Somali TV, Maxamuud works for Voice of America Radio-Somali Language, which broadcasts three times daily with an audience of more than twenty million people. He directs and produces the Qubanaha Maanta program, which is broadcasted on VOA’s television and social media apps weekly.
Ismail Muse
Program Producer and Cameraman
Ismail Muse is a program producer for Somali Media of Minnesota. He is in charge of digital productions, videos, and images. Ismail has an experience of more than fifteen years in journalism and produces high-quality videos and photos. He also works with Somali TV of Minnesota. Ismail is a parent, an educator, and community development oriented. In his free time, he likes to travel, read books, and hang out with family and friends.
